About Assault Crimes
In the state of Oregon, assault is defined as the inflicting of physical injury upon another with knowledge, intent, or recklessness. - Class A felony assault - This type of assault involves injuring a person with a deadly or dangerous weapon, or causing serious physical injury to a child under the age of six. Penalties may include fines up to $375,000, and a prison sentence of up to 20 years.
